So, there was no way I was going to miss this blog hop because like many others in the world I am a huge fan of these two particular creatures - as well as all things supernatural - but then hey, I guess that is obvious since I write within the paranormal genre.

I actually fell in love with Vampires first, and the reason for this was due to me sitting and watching Bram Stokers: Dracula. I was ten, I think, and me and my mother sat and watched this beautifully tragic love story, of a man who gave his soul to the devil and became a monster all so he could live to find his soul mate again.

I love that story. It's mine and my mothers film, we watch it a lot, and it still gets me every time. Plus, I may kinda have like a major crush on Garry Oldman as Dracula. :-P
Despite my love for Vampires and the many movies, and stories I have enjoyed with these particular creatures, as an adult I find myself more drawn to Werewolves. The primal side to them. The split lives, personalities . . . the rawness. I have seen a lot of movies with Were's but I have yet to watch one that touches me in the way Bram Stokers: Dracula does. Yes, I have seen the Wolfman. :-P Sad ending. Good film. But the depth isn't the same.

First and foremost, you're not the only one with a crush on Oldman as Dracula. I adored him in that movie, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd rather date a vampire, because a vampire might be more inclined to take me to museums or theater performances (call me a cultured girl with a peon's pocketbook). Also, I love history, so I'd love to hear a vampire's stories.
I'd hate to have a werewolf as my enemy, simply because of that damned pack mentality. Anger one of them, and suddenly the whole pack is gunning for your throat.
I'd prefer to be a vampire. I'm also a solitary person. I prefer only a handful of people in my life. As long as I had those people who were close to me, I could totally rock immortality. Just think of all the things I could learn, places I could visit...the books I could read!

ReplyDeleteI read both types of books, if it is a good story, then it’s a good story and I’m happy. However, I am drawn to that bad boy, with the rugged good looks. So, weres typically fall into that category. Not to mention that I get cold easy and most stories depict vamps as being cold skinned and weres as being warm blooded, so I'm going to go for the heat :)

A vampire. They are typically portrayed as being able to stock the shadows, as being very intelligent, and in control. Not that weres can't be those things, and weres are extremely strong... but the animal side tends to make them rely more on instincts. I've always felt that vamps are more calculating, so I think they would be the worst enemy.

A werewolf! I love the idea of being able to change forms and be wild and free. To let the earthier side of myself takes the reins.

Great post! I'd rather date a werewolf as their issues aren't as obvious as a vamps. They're hot-blooded so they'd be great to cuddle with too! I'd hate to have either as an enemy as they're both deadly. I think a vamp is scarier though as they can overpower both your body and mind. I'd much rather be a werewolf as they only have to shift once or twice a month so there's not a lot of disruption to your life.

I was a vegetarian a couple of years back - saw a documentary and it put me off eating meat for three years - I did look like a ghost.
DeleteI don't know why I did it because I love meat. Especially beer *gives pointed looks to all who snigger at that fact* but I love, love, LOVE cheese burgers.
So, yeah, I'm right there with you. Plus, Werewolves metabolisms run higher so they are constantly needing to eat, which means I could have all the burgers I wanted without gaining weight. Bonus! :-P
