Swept Away: Valentines Day Blog Hop

Love is in the air and there is a hole in our wallets.

Yes, it is that time of year again. Wine, chocolate, roses and teddy bears. Singletons are hitting the town with their friends and saying "to hell with love" while couples let their guards down and go all mushy in public.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

I hope you all have a lovely day whether you are happily married, in a relationship, or single. Love is universal and should be celebrated no matter your status.

Now for the fun part! I will be giving away a swag pack to one lucky commenter. The swag that is up for grabs is as follows:

Excuse the quality of the picture it was taken on my rubbish mobile.

A 2013 Stepping Stones personal organizer/diary, a Stepping Stones mouse mat, an Overseers Series mobile charm, a 2012 Stepping Stones fridge magnet, a 2013 Razel Dazzle wallet calendar, a Cranberry Blood magnet, and two signed coverflats: She-Wolf and Cranberry Blood (The Blood Series Prequel and Book One.)

Interested? All you have do to be in with a chance of winning is leave me a comment answering the following question:

What is the best present you have had for Vals day, and the worst?

Leave me a comment to this post - and don't forget to add your email address - and you could be the winner. Competition ends on February 17th at midnight - 6pm est time - and the winner will be picked with the help of Random.org, announced on my blog, and emailed. Good luck!

  1. Best? Beautiful red roses from my sweetie. Worst? Is there such a thing as a bad present on Valentine's Day? I don't think so. But since I don't do chocolate, I suppose the box of chocolates I got one year would qualify...even so, I loved the present and gave the chocolates to others to enjoy. It is the thought that counts, you know.

    1. I agree. It is the thought that counts, and personally I would happily eat a family members/friends valentine chocolate. :-P I love choc. Ha.

    1. My mother got me some "Love Hearts" this year. Ha. That sounds so sad, but I thought it was rather sweet. Yeah, they are a weird texture, but I actually like them, but then again I just like sweets. lol

    1. Oh dear, I'm guessing the flowers had a bad journey to you? That's a shame.

  5. Best? A music box that played the tune from Doctor Zhivago-- Lara's tune.
Worst? A supposedly humorous card that mentioned age-- yes I was sensitive that year!

    1. Ooo very nice. I have a Phantom of the Opera music box and I totally love it. Oh dear, a lady's age should never be mentioned, especially not in writing, and especially not on a Vals card.

  6. Best: a beautiful diamond necklace
worst: nothing, Valentines was depressing when you are single and alone and young: now if I was single and alone, I would be fine because valentines day is about love and I see it as love for yourself, family and friends.

    1. Yeah, I use to get depressed as a teen when Vals day came around. All the beautiful popular girls in school would walk around with roses and be all happy and giggly. I hated it.

This year I hung out with my aunt and 18 year old cousin. We had a Chinese takeaway and talked about childhood memories. It was a good evening shared with two women who I both respect and love.

I agree, Vals day can and should be celebrated with any of the people you love.

      Thanks for stopping by Susan!

    1. Can't say I blame you. Like Christmas it has gone idiotically commercial and lost its original and true meaning.

  9. Never stop dreaming, Sweetie. Stay positive and open to love and send those hopes out in to the world.

You will meet someone great one day and they will knock you off your feet.

I'm still waiting to be knocked off mine. :-) xx

    Thanks for stopping by Meghan.

  10. Ahhh I am in a boring relationship where we just exchange a card and maybe some candy for Valentine's Day. That is okay though, I have all the wonderful romance in my books to live through!

    Happy Valentine's Day,
