1. How long have you been writing for?
It's yet to be confirmed that I came out of the womb with paper and pen. Seriously though, It's been a long time. I remember penning picture books and short stories early on in grade school and selling them to family and friends for a nickel apiece. Then, when I was thirteen, I wrote and self published a YA romance. It was a great experience with two successful B&N book signings as well as TV and newspaper appearances. I've since changed genres from YA to adult romances, but I never quite writing. Recently though I did gain the courage to submit to a traditional publisher, and I have to say, I'm smitten! Secret Cravings Publishing is a great home for my stories.

2. Did you always know that you wanted to be a writer?
Yes. Although I had a brief stint where I thought I might work as a veterinarian or nun (yes, you read that right).

3. What is your favourite genre to read? To write? And
why?
Definitely historical and fantasy romance, although I do have one contemporary under my belt. I think the reason I like to read and write in said genres is due to the escape. Contemporaries can often seem too close to home for me. When I read, I want to escape from it all for a brief time and learn something new, travel to different worlds and do things the real world would never allow me to, like wield magic or wear one of those grand gowns (Robe à la Française anyone?) to a Georgian masquerade ball.

My favourite author is a tie between Jane Austen and Shana Abe. I admire Jane Austen for the more obvious reasons, and Shana Abe because of the almost magical way she weaves her words and the overall experience you get when you open one of her books. Of course, many other authors grace my faves, but you didn't ask for a running list. ;)

5. How do you get your ideas?
Anywhere and everywhere! A few have come from dreams, while others just come to me. Anything from music, to a long drive, to a line in a movie can spark ideas.

6. In your opinion what is the hardest part of the
writing process?
The middle of a first draft. It's killer. I love opening a book as well as closing it, and edits have always been a blast no matter what anyone says as that's when everything truly starts coming together. It's a love/hate relationship with the middle for me. Sometimes it goes well, other times I'm tearing at my hair.

7. In your opinion what is the best part of the writing
process?
Hmmm, I guess I would have to say that would be editing. As I said, that's when everything comes together.

8. Are you a planner or a panster?
A little of both. I do a quick outline before writing those first words, but it's not set in stone. It often changes throughout the whole process as I revise the outline and add to it.

few?
I LIKE to concentrate on one story at a time, but sometimes that isn't an option. When the dreaded writer's block rears its ugly head, sometimes switching projects for a time is the only thing to make the muse happy. Not to mention, sometimes the stories just demand attention even though another one was in line first.

10. Tell us about one of the most favourable scene you
have written.
I love powerful scenes, those ones where I can really get into my characters head. I want strong emotions such as fear and love. It's in those moments when I see how my character reacts that I learn most about them. I love that.

11. Out of all the characters you have created, who is
your favourite and why?
I will stick with characters that have been published and say my favorite characters are Gareth and Katherine from my upcoming release, Heart's Desire.

Are you working on anything at the moment?
Yes, I'm working on several things right now. A fantasy/historical series, a steamy Georgian-set, and an adventurous time travel romance.
