RBTL Tours: The Secret of Yashire by Diamante Lavendar

My World Guest Post for the Secrets of Yashire by Diamante Lavendar Blog Tour

Inspiration behind the Story

The Secrets Of Yashire has been a labor of love.  It began twenty five years ago when my daughter died.  I have always been a very creative person.  I used to write music.  Then when my daughter passed away, I felt this story bubbling inside of me.  I have always wanted to write it, but have experienced a lot of obstacles in getting it published and available to read.
I had a difficult life and my daughter was one of my biggest hopes and dreams.  When I lost her, my world crashed around me.  I put everything I wanted my daughter to learn in life in The Secrets Of Yashire.  The virtues that Brianna, the main character, learns, are the things I wanted my daughter to learn.  They are things that I learned the hard way in life.
I also wrote The Secrets Of Yashire to help young adults find their way in the world.  This world can be a very confusing and saddening place for a young person.  There are many pitfalls and wrong roads to be taken.  It is my hope that young adults reading The Secrets Of Yashire will gain wisdom to help them pave their life paths in a productive and positive light.

So much thought, heartbreak, hope and determination have gone into writing this story.  This is just the first story of the series.  There is much more to come.  I wish for it to change hearts and lives for the better.  If I am able to accomplish that with my book, I will consider my mission to have been met.  I feel that each of us is put on this earth for a specific purpose and writing is mine.  It is my way to attempt to help the world one person at a time.

Against her will, she is sent on a journey to restore unconditional love back to the land while also contending with the evil force in the land, Zolan.

Brianna is sent on her mission by Libban, Keeper of the Land. Along the way, Brianna travels with the mystical tiger, Angelos; a huge, whitish-tan tiger with thick black stripes who sings only the purest songs of love, and the wondrous little one-eyed bird named Abiba. During the journey, Brianna is also preparing to meet her soulmate-the one she longs to be with and the one who will bring complete healing back into her life.

Together they travel through fantastic lands filled with magical creatures that could only exist in the wildest of imaginations. Through her treacherous brushes with danger and heartwarming experiences of love and acceptance, Brianna discovers many things.

It is here, amidst the powers and phantasms of the mind that Brianna receives life lessons and virtues to help her. Will one of her greatest triumphs be achieved as she learns to believe in herself? For only then can she truly see all of the wondrous things that life has to offer.

Excerpt:

The light was very dim. She could barely see. She was walking down a long corridor with no doors or windows.
Where am I?
A voice whispered, “:Keep walking.:”
She saw an elevator.
“:Go inside. There is only one way. You must go down.:”
Only down? Why? That doesn’t sound good. Why doesn’t it go up? Brianna stepped into the elevator and the doors closed automatically. The elevator descended for what seemed like hours.
I don’t like this. I don’t want to go down. I want to go back up.
“:You can’t. I am showing you something.:”
The voice spoke with great authority. She felt compelled to do what it said.
What if I don’t want to see? The elevator doors opened. In front of her was a tunnel. It looked like it was underground. The air around her was damp and cold.
“: Walk down the tunnel.:”
I’m scared. I don’t want to.
“:You must. I am going to show you where you will end up if you don’t change. You need to know what will happen to you.:”
I don’t want to!
“:You must.:
She reluctantly started walking down the tunnel. It was very dark but she could see a dim light ahead. She began to hear laughter coming from the same place as the light.
“:They are partying. Go and watch, but don’t let them see youWhatever you do, don’t let them see you.:”
Why do I have to do this? I’m scared!
“:Look.:”
She went to where the dim light fell into the tunnel. Looking through a doorway, she saw a room where demons were laughing and drinking blood. They were kissing and several were laying on a table in the middle of the room.
“:Be quiet. Don’t let them hear you.:”
She watched in horror until one turned and saw her standing in the doorway. She screamed and began to run back down the tunnel towards the elevator.
Oh my God! I have to get out of here! They’re going to get me!
The demons came rushing through the door and began to chase her down the hallway.
I’ll change! I promise! I’m sorry! I don’t want to end up here! Please!
She ran as fast as she could, rushing into the elevator and repeatedly slamming her hand against the up button.
Please! Shut the doors! I promise I’ll change! Please, don’t let them get me!
The doors slowly closed just as the demons reached the elevator. She could hear banging on the other side of the doors as she began to ascend.
Oh my God!

Author Information:

Diamante Lavendar has been in love with reading since she was a child. She spent many hours listening to her mother read to her when she was young. As she grew older, she enjoyed reading novels of all genres: horror, fantasy and some romance to name a few.

She began writing in college and published some poetry in anthologies over the years. After her kids were older, she wrote as a form of self-expression and decided she wanted to share her stories with others.

Most of her writing is very personal and stems from her own experiences and those of her family and friends. She writes to encourage hope and possibility to those who read her stories.

Diamante believes that everyone should try to leave their own positive mark in the world, to make it a better place for all. Writing is the way that she is attempting to leave her mark—one story at a time.
