RBTL Tours: The Night of Elisa by Isis Sousa

My World Dream Cast for the Night of Elisa by Isis Sousa Blog Tour

What would be your Dream Cast if The Night of Elisa made it to the Big Screen? Who Would You Choose To Play Your Characters and Why?

Dear Elizabeth, thank you for the opportunity of having my book featured at your lovely blog! It is deeply appreciated! :)

Wow, this is one of the most exciting, but also most difficult blog posts I ever did :) That’s because there are very many good and interesting actors on the screens today and also, because the characters of The Night of Elisa are out of the ordinary…

So let’s start the game!

Elisa: Is it very difficult to find anyone which would be suitable for Elisa, the closest I get is Winona Ryder (as Mina Murray on Dracula, 1992) – but with a rounder face. Her looks would be somehow close to what I have in mind, but with different mannerisms and voice. Elisa’s voice would be something like Liv Kristine, the singer.

Siamese sisters: Sadie Frost (as Lucy Westenra on Dracula, 1992). That’s is very close to what these lovely and devious sisters look like, in hairstyle and wardrobe.

Berenice: Would look very similar to Elisa, as if they are sisters.

Dr. Charles: Christopher Lee, on age 55-65 would be very suitable for Dr. Charles. Not only for his physical characteristics, but also by his talent on pulling up a sinister personality. Also, he is very tall, just my character.

Leonhard: It is very difficult to find someone who could fit for him, just like it is for Elisa. But the closest would be Kris Holden-Ried – but with a long hair. :) I also think he would be suitable if someone ever makes a movie about the life of Van Gogh! Hint, hint!

Giorgio: Danny DeVito would be perfect as Dr. Charles, something like in the photo you see here. Although, I never had inspiration on him to craft my character.

Antonina: She looks very much like Caitriona Balfe. Just skinnier and with a pointy nose and slightly gibbous!

Marcel: Sam Heughan would be a perfect match. He looks physically very similar to what I imagine for this character. His mannerisms on the series Outlander can also be similar to Marcel’s, althought I never had him as original inspiration for the characters itself.

Philip: Looks exactly like his son, Marcel, just 30 years older.

On completing the post, if I could choose a director, it would be Tim Burton, for sure! And for photography director, I’d like to invite Raphael Lacoste, from the Assassin’s Creed game franchise. And I’d like to co-direct and work as concept artist for the characters and some visual cues throughout the movie.

Thank you so much :)

EM: You're very welcome Isis. It's a pleasure having you over. Also.... I LOVE Tim Burton's work! He's awesome. : D

Sometimes, life and love can follow the most obscure paths, just as they did for Elisa.
Her life becomes a dark, cold, lonely cage the day the devil takes her as his wife. He robs her of almost everything she holds dear: her health, her wealth and what is left of her family.
Trapped between the nuances of life and beyond-life, Elisa finds herself struggling for a better tomorrow. With her health deteriorating, how will she summon the courage and strength to stand her ground? And how far will she go in the pursuit of a dream?
Embark with Elisa on this puzzling Gothic adventure set in the late Victorian era, between the world of the Living and the picturesque, melancholic Duskland.

Excerpt:

‘Elisa’ calmed and the struggle was over. How dare she speak of me like I’m already dead? I know these faces… Father Johannes was throwing holy water over her bed and chanting in Latin.
“E-l-i-s-a i-s b-a-c-k!” a loud voice echoed in the room for all to hear. Quentin was very surprised. “She is back! Father Johannes, how is it possible?”
Father Johannes’ voice was frail. He was a short, gibbous man with an aquiline nose and big, deep eyes. “God the almighty never betrays us, my son!” He raised the wooden cross with his right hand.  “Whatever evil was holding her from life – from death – is here no more!” He came closer to Quentin, reaching for his ear. “She is strong, my son! Keep pretending until the last moment. We don’t want it to happen, but if she survives we don’t want her to tell anyone about what we did.”
“If she survives it will be for a very short time. I will take care of her once and for all, Father!” Quentin pretended he was seeing a miracle from the seven heavens. His young wife back from the dead! How was it possible? We did everything we could, but you persisted… “Elisa, my dearest, you’re alive! You live! You have come back to us!” Quentin continued, admiring that she had endured so much.

Author Information:

Writing sucks. Period.

That’s why I am an artist; illustrator and graphic designer who writes in a hobby basis. Oh, wait… That’s not the “why”… I was born artist, and there is nothing I can do to change it. But with all the imagination I have running lose, there came some stories… And there came some books!

When I’m not doing artwork and illustration for authors and bands, I’m doing woodcarving, painting ornaments, painting artworks for myself, writing articles for IT’S ART MAG, collaborating with other artists and so on. Love Arts, History and Heavy Metal.

Oh, and summer is a bitch! Always. Anywhere in the world.
