Playing 20 questions with Saewood Tice

Today I am joined by the lovely - and wonderfully witty - Saewood Tice....

EM: Welcome to My World, Saewood! : ) Are you ready to play 20 questions? *rubs hands together*

ST: Yes. *kicks back in oversized beanbag slathers on the chapstick*

“Okay…Spin the bottle. Oops, wait…wrong game.”

EM: : 0 We sooooo have to play that next time? *stares at chapstick* What? No. I don't mean we as in we... Perhaps drag some characters in to it? Hmm... *makes mental note*

Which do you find harder to write?

1. First person POV or Third?

Third person scares me. I’ve made some attempts with a couple of works in progress, but it’s hard for me. Heck, it was like pulling teeth to write my bio in third person. Those couple of paragraphs alone made me feel all kinds of douche-baggery.

Besides the multiples like to do their own talking in their own point of view.

2. As a male or female?

I love exploring and playing around in the male mind. It’s not easy to do, but it makes the particular scene more interesting to me. Sometimes I have to actually ask men what they would do in certain situations, but still it’s fun to get my Dude on. The 16 year old gay boy who lives inside my body loves to come out play.

EM: *does the funky chicken while singing... "Get my dude on. Get my-Get my dude on!"*
Actually, being a writer is the perfect excuse for getting in guys brains. *High five for brain digging?*

3. Beginning, middle or end of the story?

Beginning – I’m raring to go with endless possibilities.

Middle – I’m worried that I’ve forgotten about an open plot area in the beginning.

End – I’m hesitant to put ~The End~

4. Fight scenes or smex scenes?

Yes, please? Hello… *tap tap* this thing on? I said Yes!

5. Synopsis or blurb?

Um, I’ll take the ‘Bog of Eternal Stench’ over either of them! ‘Goblin King, Goblin King, take those things far away from me!’ You can also add the author bio and make it a ménage.

EM: Damn, David Bowie is hot in that film. I really wanted her to stay with him... silly girl *grumbles*

As a writer, do you prefer:

6. Writing in the morning, afternoon or evening?

Whenever I can. Between the day job, a hubby, and two young kids with afterschool activities, you can catch me writing in a notebook at a red light some days. : )

7. Writing with music, or in peace?

Music is one of my muses. It not only inspires, but can also set my emotions for a scene.

8. Planning, or Improvising?

Motherhood has taught me a multitude of things. Crayola does NOT mean washable, Mommy I love you is a child’s get out of jail free card, Bubblegum does not come out of a Bischon / Maltese dog’s hair without scissors, and while planning is great I’d better be ready to improvise.

9. Juggling a few projects, or concentrating on one at a time?

If only the multiples would allow me to focus on one thing at a time. *sigh* Too many voices and not enough duct tape.

EM: *gives some duct tape* I have lots. It's really needed. *Points at her Werewolf Pack*

10. Sticking to one genre, or exploring many?

My writing is as eclectic as my reading. I’m an equal opportunity genre-list.

As a reader, do you prefer:

11. Story being told from female view or male?

It depends on …

“I like the male point of view.” – Sex kitten purrs

“You would, tramp. I like the female point of view, why should men get the spotlight?!” – Feminist does her ball breaking.

Damn multiples! Did I say you could come out? Do you want the shock treatments again? Both of you back into recesses of my subconscious, now!

Geesh where was I? Oh yes, it depends on the story.

12. Good guys or bad boys?

I’m such a sucker for a bad boy. Sigh *gets lost in naughty thoughts of bad boys*

EM: *Jumps in to Saewoods though* Oooh it's naughty in here!

13. Feisty females or fragile damsels?

Well, since I’m a fragile damsel… *snort, splutter* HA! I almost got through that without laughing. Whew.

Of course I’m a fan of the feisty female. Feisty female + Alpha/Dominant = Good Times. (And yes I did sing those last two words.)

14. Standalone stories or series?

As a reader, I love a good series, but only if the story should continue or another character’s story really deserves development.

15. Quick reads or long stories?

While I enjoy a quickie, there is nothing better than an exciting, long … story. : )

EM: Couldn't help yourself, could you? : P

16. Romance as a side dish or the main course?

I like to order a la cart, so I’m going to say side dish. But sometimes I order a side dish as my main meal – Just say’n.

EM: For some reason I am now a little hungry... O_o

17. Erotica or soft romance or something in-between?

Depends on the author because some give great SoRo, while others nail the shizznik out of me with the Ero.

18. More action or humor?

With a Kindle, a Paypal account, and a quick clicky-finger why do I have to choose? Maybe you don’t know this about me, but I lean toward humor.

EM: Tehe I figured that out by the time we got to question number 1 : P *likes thee humor*

 Just for fun:

19. Vampires or Angels?

What can I say? I’m a sucker for fang.

Ha ha ha, I slay myself. Go ahead you can roll your eyes at me.

EM: *rolls eyes, and giggles.* 'Cos I is multi-talented like that!

20. Werewolves or Demons?

Ooohhh…um, um, I love a good Alpha, but I did just read a really really good book with a Demon – Satan counts as a Demon right?

EM: Yes. Yes he does.

What are you currently working on?

Time to put the serious author face on, *Grabs glasses, buttons up shirt, and slicks hair back*

EM: So you're now, Clark Kent?
I really shouldn't be watching Smallville while I post this interview, should I? Sorry.

I currently have a few works in progress I’m trying to tidy up and polish before I start submitting. A couple of my novels are posted online – free on Textnovel.com where I’ve entered their online writing contest.

Though, since I’ll be pushing some of the chosen few into possibly publication, they will be coming down from the site in the near future.

Do you have any current release?

Amongst the Ruins, The Chronicles of 2020, Book 1 just released this month. Yay! *does the running man, cabbage patch, and - to spice it up – the tootsie roll.*

Blurb:

In the year 2220, only about 15% of Earth's population have survived and thrived after the Nuclear Disaster of 2020.
With the collapse of modern society, the population has regressed into eight clans.
Amongst these clans, an unusual girl grows from child to adult.

Raised on the run and in hiding, Shilo wants to be free of the expectations of women. But in a ruined world where anyone could be an enemy, only the radiation-twisted mutants are clearly identifiable. A fertile female is a precious treasure, and any lapse in caution can mean a loss of the freedom she longs for.

Training as hard as a soldier would, in order to free herself from social constraints, she finds herself faced with an offer from a new clan--an offer that provides her with what she desires. But her recently found independence brings discovery, and discovery brings two very different men from her past—and each of them is determined to claim her.

One is obsessed with owning her, the other desires her as the only person who can make him love again

Any upcoming releases?

I’m currently doing edits on a romance novel titled ‘Live In Position’ which should release by the end of this year through 48fourteen Publishing.

This novel steps away from Young Adult and moves into the adult realm. It’s a bit more romantic, humorous, and steamier than my current release.

Blurb:

Twenty five year old Sophia Ashwood, part time nanny and childcare worker, has just graduated college and is ready to write the next best seller; however, she needs a full time job flexible enough for her to fulfill her dream.

When Sophia steps into the Bishop home to care for emotionally neglected Victoria, she’s positive Dr. Collin Bishop, aka The Anti-Christ, despises her. The intensity of his glare is unsettling and frustrating.

Sophia’s determined to bide her time, until she can gain publication and freedom from the Bishop’s snobbery. However, the longer she cares for Victoria, the more wrapped up in their drama filled lives she becomes.

It will be available at: www.48fourteen.com/catalog/live-position
