It's Sunday so it's time for a Sexy Snippet. Today's 7 sentences are taken from  Blood Secrets (Blood Series: Book Two). 

Same scene as last week, but a little further into the conversation. Brendan has filled Heather in on what happened after the incident at the end of book one in the Series, Cranberry Blood. She has told Brendan that he didn't have to rush over to Italy to help her find the kidnapped UK Pack members...

"I couldn’t leave you here on your own with these...” I glanced at the door. “Wolves.”
“I’m a big girl, Brendan. I can take care of myself.”
I leaned forward, resting my elbows on my knees, laced my fingers together.
My gaze fixed firmly on my palms. “I know, but knowing you were here on your own—”
“I’ve hardly been on my own.” She scoffed.
“It didn’t sit well with me. Still doesn’t.” I looked back at her. “So I had to come.”
She held my gaze. Her jaw set as if she wanted to argue, protest, and throw all her usual Tough Girl brush-offs at me, but she remained silent.
I turned my attention back to my hands. “I must admit though, I didn’t think you would have left so soon.”
