HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2014 is almost over... Where has the year gone? How is it even possible that the years are slipping by faster and faster?

Well, I hope you have all had a good 2014. Mine has been busy both personally and professionally, which you can read about in a little more detail over at my last post of the year on Not Just A Stiff Upper Lip; My 2014.

I do mention on that post how 2015 is looking very empty compared to how 2014 has been - personally; attended 3 weddings, a hen weekend, a christening, and a 30th birthday. Professionally; released 4 books (5 if you count the paperback edition of Razel Dazzle) 2 of the books were self-published. Also attended my first book event. - but who knows what this next year is going to bring.

What I do know for sure is the following:

Summer 2015 - Blood Series: Book Two

I have a terrible habit of comparing myself to other authors in many ways, but mostly in regards to progress. I look at how fast other authors are able to write books and get them out there in the world and I always feel bad that I am unable to produce work that quickly. I would love to be able to, but I have another job and one that takes up energy more than anything else. I realize admitting that I have a job spoils my allure as an author, but a girl has to pay her bills and writing is my passion. Passion unfortunately doesn't pay, but that's fine because I love writing and I am so blessed that I am able to do so and that I have readers who enjoy my work. So, what I have promised myself this year is that I am not going to stress myself out about how much I write, or more importantly, how many books I release.

I released four books this year, but three of them had already been released. I did have to go through them, revamp, polish, and edit them, but they were already technically finished. A finished book is easier to publish then an unwritten one.

So, my aim is to write just one book this year and publish it, and that book will be the untitled second book in the Blood Series. I am already 10,000 words in. Now that Christmas and New Year are out of the way I will be buckling down in the hopes of having the first draft finished by spring.

Blood Series is my priority. I want so very much to get it finished and hope to do so in the next couple of years. There has been a two year delay on the series, which is my fault. The publisher who had it started to have problems right after Cranberry Blood was originally released and well, I decided I wasn't continuing the series until I got my rights back and could self-publish. I had thought it would take a long time until I got my rights back, but with luck - and a lot of unhappy authors fighting for their work - we all got our rights back the following year and the naturally from last November all the way to this August I had been working on She-Wolf (Blood Series: Prequel) and Cranberry Blood (Blood Series: Book One) to get them ready for re-release.

I started the series in 2009. I love it. So when I say I want to finish it, it's not because I hate it or want it over and done with. It's because I want the story to be told and finished so I can the move on to the pile of other ideas I have - and the other series I started, got the rights back for, and have to finish. You will hear more on this when I know I will be publishing it.

So, Blood Book Two will definitely be released next year. My aim is Summer. I do know that there will be a Blood Series: Book 1.5, which I already have a rough plot for and may have to start writing it while I am writing book two. I have stated on my site I am aiming to publish it in Winter 2015, but that is just a tentative date and is definitely subject to change.

Blood Series does have a Facebook Page. I will admit I don't update it as regularly as I should, but with me working on book two and on the series in general that will be changing. You will see excerpts on this page, and I tend to share songs from the playlists, as well as facts and other tid bits that spring up during the creative process. So, if you are a fan of the series so far you may want to check it out: https://www.facebook.com/TheBloodSeries

Elizabeth Morgan Zazzle Store

I have opened a Zazzle Store. In complete honesty I opened it a couple weeks ago, but I have been trying my best to get a decent start on creating products and making them available for you.

A few years back two of my fave authors opened Zazzle stores within a year of each other and I found it to be such a fab idea, but at the time I had no reason or need to open one. So, I save the idea away in the back of my mind. Last year, another of my fave authors as well as the lovely Dianna Hardy who is a very good friend and indeed one of my fave authors also opened stores up.

Well, I thought, "why not?"

I for one often find it difficult to pick good prizes for competitions. Having a zazzle store means that I have created merchandise with quotes on from my own work, and can purchase zed items for competitions. Plus, it also means that if any of you loved a particular quote of book then you can treat yourself to a keyring, or t-shirt; whatever you fancied.

Now, the store isn't finished because I can add to it constantly. At the moment I only have quotes etc. from my self-published titles; She-Wolf, Cranberry Blood, and Razel Dazzle. I need to look into whether I can take quotes from the books with publishers. So, until I find out the details over that, if there is a quote from one - or all - of the books mentioned above that you would love on a t-shirt or a bag etc. all you have to do is email me at - Elizabeth-Morgan @ hotmail . co . uk - and let me know what quote you would like to see and I will whip something up to put on sale using it.

If you're interested in what's up for sale just head on over and take a look around: http://www.zazzle.co.uk/elizabeth_morgan

Yorkshire Cosplay Con

Possibly convention I will be attending in April 2015. Details are still being ironed out, but the convention looks really cool and myself, Ninfa Hayes, D.A. Lascelles and R.A. Smith are hoping to attend. We shall be signing and selling books and basically be around to hang and chat. So, if you are in the UK and are interested do keep checking back for more details on that.

TSU

I am now on TSU - https://www.tsu.co/ElizabethMorgan - this site works the same as Facebook, but kind of has a Twitter feel to it - at least it seems that way to me - I did sign-up over a week ago, and have posted the odd thing on there, but I intend to start using it a lot as soon as we hit January. I will still be on facebook and twitter so if you follow me on either of those platforms do not fear.

For any of you who are new to this blog and may be interested in learning more about my books - published and upcoming - and about anything else I have to say, but don't want to have to scroll through all these blog posts - I do realize my blog has turned into a place more for guests then myself. It is something I hope to rectify this year so hopefully you shall hear from me much more on here - then below is a list of all the places you can find my online.

Blog: (Shared with Dianna Hardy): http://notjustastiffupperlip.blogspot.co.uk/
Zazzle: http://www.zazzle.co.uk/elizabeth_morgan

And that's it for what I know for certain about 2015. I can't think of anything else so I think I'm okay in saying that is what I have so far in regards to next year.

Rounding up this year:

Just in case you didn't already know....

Releases:
January: Truth or Dare?
June: Stepping Stones (Re-release)
August: She-Wolf & Cranberry Blood (Self-Published Re-releases)

Paperbacks: I finally figured out how to format books for print. Go me! So that means you can get my self-published titles in print if you prefer to hold a book in your hand rather than an eReader.

Razel Dazzle
She-Wolf (Blood Series: Prequel)
Cranberry Blood (Blood Series: Book One)

Okay, I think that is everything. 2014 has been a very busy and productive year and although 2015 looks to be a quieter year I look forward to the slower pace and more importantly I look forward to seeing what the year brings. You never know what is round the corner.

Thank you all for your constant support and I do hope you will continue to follow my madness and that you continue to enjoy my work. I hope you have all had a wonderful 2014 and that 2015 brings the realization and fruition of your dreams. Here's to a fabulous year.

So long 2012! Hello 2013!

2012 has flown by in a swirl of new projects/ideas, tons of edits, and three releases. Throw in a day job and some family drama and that has basically been my year in a nutshell.

I've said it before and I will say it again it really does freak me out how fast the days slip by. Then again, I am one of these people who can't wait to see what is lurking round the corner.

This year has been an equal balance of highs and lows. I have learnt a lot both in a professional and personal sense and know that I have to head in to 2013 with positivity and trust.

My Monday post at "Not Just A Stiff Upper Lip" my joint blog with Dianna Hardy is all about what 2012 brought for me. I thought I would use this years last post on my own blog to talk about my plans for next year.

To kick off 2013 I have a book release. "Creak," my erotic thriller is due for release by Secret Cravings Publishing on (tentative) January 14th. This is my first "thriller" though I have to say it is more creepy than scary, which was actually my goal. It is also my first ménage book, and I have to say I am super excited for you to meet my leading males. ;-p No, I wont give any details, but you wont have to wait too long to meet them yourself.

I have four projects I plan to complete this year.

1) Truth or Dare? - This is a contemporary erotic short. It isn't plot heavy just a sexy little story that I have currently been writing as part of my Flash Fiction "Wednesday Briefs," but I plan to get it finished once I have the edits done and dusted for Creak.

2) Let Me In - A dark paranormal erotic . . . I originally planned for this to be a short story. Or a story that will be done in three short instalments  but after finishing the first part I started wondering if it would be better as a novella. I plan to figure that out and continue writing this story once I have finished Truth or Dare?

3) Charged (and possibly, Tainted) - These are two interlocking books in a brand new series, and one that I intend to self-publish. The genre is a little bit of a mash-up at the present moment. It lays somewhere between dystopian futuristic/ Paranormal/ Superhero, Romance. I will have a better idea once it is complete.

4) Watermaker: Book 1 in the Black Water Trilogy - New Adult/Futuristic/Romance. I have mentioned this book on and off. I wrote this book with a friend of mine three years ago. We have been batting it back and forth the entire time. I know have it back for editing  My goal is to get this baby contracted this year and hopefully published, because it's time.

They are the projects that I aim - and desperately hope to - complete in 2013. I've had a couple of ideas for fresh stories, but unfortunately I don't have enough hands, time, or energy to punch out a book a month. Believe me, I wish I did, but I don't. The problem with me is half of my ideas sometimes turn in to series and as you may very well know I already have two series out there, the first book in a co-authored series complete, and with Generation Breed in the making, well, any more and my head may explode.

What about The Blood Series?

I am plotting Book 2 which is currently untitled and as soon as the above 4 projects are completed - and I have no idea when they will be - I will be throwing myself in to that book. So for now, it is in the forming stage.

What about The Overseers Series?

I plan to write a few more books in this series, but at this point in time sales for book 1: The Collector, aren't very good. A part of me hates saying that because in all honesty that shouldn't matter. I will be writing and finishing this series no matter what, but sales do kinda help the project schedule  Next to no sales means an unpopular book. Place those numbers next to the two books in a series that is selling and well, the series that is doing well is more of a priority. So, The Overseers Series is on hold until further notice.

So, that is what I plan to spend 2013 doing. I don't know what else fate has in store for me, but I don't mind as long as I get those above projects done. That's fair enough, right?

I will be taking part in a couple of blog hops in the first couple of months. So, stay tuned for posts and news on them.

Resolutions? Continue to try and lose weight. It is such a cliché resolution, but it is the only one that I am making - yet again. I've managed to maintain my weight for two years. That's better than nothing, right? Who knows maybe this year I can push it a little lower. :-P

Do you have any resolutions or goals for 2013? Do you feel positive about achieving them?

I hope you do. And I hope you all have a wonderful night and that 2013 brings you happiness and success.

Clean 'n' tidy, and . . . who likes swag?

So, the blog is nice and tidy. It's had a facelift and it kinda fits in with the feel of my new site - the link is www.e-morgan.com, if you would like to check it out. :-)

A quick run-down on what's gone, and what's new:

All my book pages have been moved to my site. Each book - or series - now has their own page. There is also a "coming soon" page and a "Work in Progress" page at the site so you can find out what I'm working on, what has been submitted, and what is getting published.

Under the new header you will see a few pages. Page one is named "BTS Mag." Self-explanatory. I'm a blogger host for BTS, and I gave the BTS Mag it's own page so it is easier to view etc. If you have a moment you should check it out, there are some cool little stories in there and interesting articles.

Page two is "Contact." Naturally, this is a list of all the places you will find me on the Internet.

Page three is my "link archive." Basically this page is a list of blogs/sites I have been a guest blogger on, had interviews etc. also there are links to reviews for all of my books. Stuff like that.

Page four, which is "Guest Authors." Here you will find all the authors that will be visiting the blog over the next couple of months. If you have a moment you should check it out 'cos I got some pretty cool folks coming to hang.

Lastly, "My World Blog Button." I suck with codes, and I have not been able to figure out how I can do the code so anyone who is interested in adding my button to their site can just copy and paste it. I know, I suck. So, basically it is there so if you would like to add it you will have to go old school and save the image and then load it and link it yourself. Sorry to be a pain, but I am rubbish with codes etc.

Other than that, everything is pretty much the same, but just a lot tidier.

Now, on a completely different note: I am whipping up some swag. I kinda suck in the swag department, which I hope you can forgive me for. It's all down to my budget, which hasn't been great, until now.

I'm having lots of fun experimenting with Vistaprint, and I managed to bag me some deals. If you look to your left you will see the Blog Hop button for "Bitten By Paranormal Romance & Gabrielle Bisset's" hop in September. I am planning to do a nice bundle for someone to win, which would be cool. :-D

And in saying that I was wondering what kinda swag you all love to win; signed cover flats? Bookmarks? Mugs? Bags? The list is endless, but I would honestly like to know what you all think since you will be the ones winning these items.

Also, I was wondering - for anyone who has read any of my books - if you have any favourite quotes? You know, lines that you would love on a bumper sticker, or a t-shirt etc. any quotes at all.

Let me know, folks, and I will see what I can do. :-)

Eh...

Snippet up!

Edit: Ignore the below rant (although it still kinda counts, but not as much.) Look (right side bar) -------------------->
The Stepping Stones WIP widget is back, and the wordcount has gone up. I sat down and wrote 1.5k! Woop. My brain is working again! >_<

Eh. Very tired this morning. I'm still waiting to hear back from three publishers, so I hope to have at least one bit of good news soon (fingers crossed). I removed my little WIP widgets because they were depressing me. Life has tipped upside down at the moment, I haven't wrote much, and the reminder is a tad annoying. Once that changes they will be back, along with snips of new stories >_<

Any way, I have a stupid, and slightly busy day ahead of me so I have to keep the post nice and short. I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Friday, 1 April 2011

Sorry

My mother's been ill this week, which is why there has been no blogging. So do not fear I have not fallen of the face of the earth :P

Nice chunk of snippet up for y'all since today is indeed friday.

And last, but not least - it's actually most important - I got the release date for Razel Dazzle, which will be.... May 6th. Eeeee! Very exciting! I am starting to get nervous. Yes, a month in advance, because I am insane like that >_<

Snippet up!

Friday snippet up!!

And damn, where the heck did all this sunshine and heat come from?? It's so hot and lovely, I just want to sit in the garden and chill.... and, also, possibly fall asleep :P

If ye were a pirate...

I've been quiet this week, I know. Personal stuff. Oy.

Any way, after driving myself crazy and trying to sit down and make words happen on any of the ickle projects I have going... my brain finally settled on one. *High five anyone?*

But I have a problem. I usually make a playlists, so if I ever feel stuck it will help me along. I have been through every cd, every file on my computer, can I find any music that fits? Nope.

Which is where you lovely people come in. ^_^ Now, I know music was a heck of a lot different in the late 1600's, early 1700's to how it is today, which is why my question to you is...

If you were a pirate (from around that time frame) and you came to the future (present day) what bands/artist/music genre would you love to sail the high seas and pillage to?

Sounds like a crazy question, but I would be sooooo grateful for any music suggestions.

Mini ramble

Next snippet up! >_< Not much to report, apart from that my second lot of edits are done for Razel Dazzle. Oooo the excitment and nerves... a lot of nerves. Although they will probably get worse once I have found out the release date. Eek!

Happy St Patrick's day!

I know I'm a little late. If I would have posted about twenty minutes ago it would still be the 17th or March. So darn. But for all who celebrate it....

12 films... I didn't get to see in 2010

All the films that I didn't get to see this year, but I shall be getting my hands on them to watch as soon as possible.

Harry potter and the deathly hallows: part 1

Have all the Harry Potter films. I'm a fan of the films, didn't really enjoy the books. But the trailer looks awesome, and I have heard that it is a pretty darn good film.

Tuesday, 14 December 2010

12 films from 2010

In no particular order...

Sherlock Holmes

This film technically came out late 2009, but I didn't see it until this january, so it counts lol Robert D. Junior, is brilliant as Sherlock. And Jude Law makes a fab Watson. And together they're just hilarious. I really enjoyed this version, especially since I'm not a fan of the older Sherlock films. And apparently there is a second film coming out next year at some point. Woo!
