Excerpts

After dinner, the group had taken a night tour of the town. Most of them had settled in a small café near the town center for coffee and dessert. Robin made sure they knew their way back to the hotel and then went back himself. He needed to try to get some sleep.
He unlocked the room and stepped in, just as Johan came out of the bathroom, a small towel around his waist that barely covered his bits and butt, leaving strong legs and sexy abs exposed to Robin’s hungry gaze. He turned away and went right to his bag, busying himself as Johan moved behind him, hopefully dressing.
“Are you going out?” Johan asked.
“No. Most of the group found a café. Billy and Kyle went off to find some nightlife.” Robin carefully sat on the cot, relieved when it didn’t collapse, though it definitely groaned. “I’m going to go over the things for tomorrow.”
Johan rolled his eyes, and Robin got up the courage to actually look up at him. Johan had pulled on a pair of jeans, but he was still bare-chested, and the temperature in the small room spiked at least ten degrees. A visual feast of golden skin, lean muscle by no means muscle-bound, and a dusting of dark hair sent Robin’s pulse racing. He turned away again, because lusting after his coworker was so damn wrong on so many levels.
Robin’s brown curls—his mom called them shaggy—fell into his eyes, and he used them as cover to look a little more. Johan walked closer to the window, his belly at perfect eye level, a dark trail slipping into his pants, leading to… well, Robin’s imagination could certainly fill in any gaps, and it did in spectacular fashion.
“Maybe I will go out,” Robin said softly. Lord knew if Johan stayed in the room, especially like that, Robin wasn’t going to be able to breathe. Robin grabbed his messenger bag and hurried to the door, almost forgetting his key, before leaving the room and hurrying down the hall to the stairs.
Outside on the cobbled street, Robin took a deep breath and slowly walked toward town. There was a small convenience-type store a few blocks away, and it would be good if he got some more water and a few snacks.
“Robbie.”
Robin gritted his teeth and turned to find Johan striding toward him.
“You didn’t have to leave the room so quickly.” He fell into step with him.
“I’m Robin, not Robbie,” he said firmly. He hated that nickname.
“Okay. You still didn’t have to leave.” Johan looked at him with his big, almost-mysterious brown eyes for long enough that Robin felt heat rising at the base of his spine. “Are you one of those prudish Americans who keeps himself covered all the time?”
“I’m not prudish,” Robin said. “I just needed some fresh air and to get a few things.” He continued on his way, doing his best to keep his attention on the way ahead and not on Johan’s hotness.
“Do you not like guys? Is that it? You work for a gay tour company.” Johan walked faster as Robin sped up. He hadn’t meant to, but his legs just kept moving more quickly. “Maybe you’re one of those people who doesn’t like to be happy or something.”
Robin came to an abrupt stop, opening his mouth to give Johan a tongue lashing, but he realized he was standing in front of the café where half his tour group sat, watching them. Well, they were watching Johan. No one ever paid that much attention to him.
Robin whirled on his heels and continued toward town. How dare Johan try to get into his head. “For your information, yes, I like guys, and I’m not a prude. Though you seem to have exhibitionist tendencies. Is what you’ve got really worth making sure everyone sees it?” He turned to Johan and cocked his eyebrow.
Johan smiled and didn’t retort, which pissed Robin off a little more and actually raised his curiosity level. Damn it all to hell. Why was he doing this to himself? They had a job to do.

Blurb/Synopsis:

A Hearts Entwined Novel

An accident crushed Duncan’s Olympic dreams and landed him in a chair, but he knows it’s time to get his life back on track—and he has a plan in mind. Working with his friend Todd, an Olympic skeleton racer, on a promotional campaign will not only help Duncan regain some direction, but it’ll give Todd the financial boost he desperately needs. The sport Todd loves is draining his resources—so much so that he’s thinking of giving up racing just to make ends meet.

As the two men work together, their friendship blossoms into much more, and suddenly the future is looking brighter than it has in a long time. But just when love, happiness, and success seem within their grasp, the USOC steps in with plans to stop their campaign. That’ll mean an end not just to Duncan’s business, but to Todd’s dreams… and Duncan isn’t about to let that happen to the man who means everything to him.

Excerpt:

“Why are you nervous? You got a thing for this guy?” There were times when Clive could be amazingly perceptive, and Todd hoped this wasn’t one of those times. “You can blush faster than a fifteen-year-old with a hot date. What’s this guy like?”
“How about we leave the fifth degree until I get home. I’m just having lunch with an old friend. There’s nothing more to it than that.”
Which was the truth. Todd doubted there could ever be anything more than that between him and Duncan, no matter how many times he’d wondered what Duncan would be like to come home to and spend more than just the hours training together on frozen runs with. They were both competitive as hell and had pushed each other to be better, over and over again. They fought sometimes, and each of them had won and lost. There were times that Todd had hated Duncan, but now he could see that was just their competitive natures getting the best of them. Besides, everything had changed when Duncan got hurt. Those past rivalries paled in comparison to his friend’s health and well-being. The accident had shaken Todd to the core and pushed him to some hard truths, like maybe… sometimes… it wasn’t who got down the hill the fastest.
Clive rolled his eyes dramatically and sighed. “So, you like this guy. It’s about fucking time.” He grinned. “Go out, have a good time, and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.” He paused. “On second thought, I hope to hell you do something I would do, preferably multiple times until your eyes roll back in your head and he puts a huge grin on your face.” Clive swooped out of the room.
“Slut,” Todd teased in his best southern accent, which he knew came off flat, but it pissed Clive off when he did it.
“You really want to do this?” Clive paused for barely a fraction of a second before firing back with “Prude.”
“Floozy.”
“Ice queen.”
“Helium heels,” Todd retorted, and Clive raised an eyebrow ever so slightly. “Shirttail lifter,” he added for good measure.
“Great American sex desert.”
Todd chuckled. That was a new one, and really quite good. “Member of the Kneepads of the Month club.”
Clive opened his mouth but nothing came out.
Todd grinned and pointed. “Gotcha,” he crowed before Clive had a chance to recover. He claimed victory by shooing Clive out and closing the door. Their game had started out with one-upmanship around who could bag the guy they wanted first, but after things had fallen apart for Todd, they had shifted mostly to Todd defending the fact that his life in the bedroom had become his right hand and nothing more.
He finished getting ready and headed out to where the other three people in the house sat watching ESPN. They were all athletes in various sports, mostly the unglamorous ones, though Henry was a speed skater, and in Milwaukee that held some interest, given that the Olympic speed skating training center was in town and the two American stars of the sport, Dan Jansen and Bonnie Blair, were both from the area. Other than that, most people only heard of the sports each of them loved every four years when the Winter Olympics rolled around.
“I’ll see you later, guys.” Todd headed for the door as all eyes turned to him. They waved and thankfully didn’t tease. Todd was more grateful than he could say.
He half jogged to his car, slipped inside, and started the engine. The old beater was in tip-top condition under the hood, and Todd intended to keep her that way. He navigated the streets to Duncan’s and pulled into the drive, got out, and approached the front door to ring the bell.
The door stayed closed and Todd heard nothing from inside. Had Duncan forgotten they were going to get together? A wave of disappointment washed over him before the door finally opened and Duncan rolled back. Todd opened the screen door and stepped inside.
“Sorry, I was….” Duncan glanced down the hall, and Todd nodded his understanding.
“Where’s your mom?” Todd asked, looking around.
“She went to visit relatives.” Duncan grabbed a sweatshirt jacket and piled it on top of his legs. “She wanted me to go with her.”
“We could have rescheduled if that’s what you needed,” Todd said, even as a smile curled his lips upward.
“Oh God no.” Duncan tilted his head to the side. “She’s one of those pity people.” He lowered his jaw and made a soft “oh” sound. “‘Poor Duncan… I’m so sorry.’ Bitch.” The cattiness snapped out, and Todd laughed. There was some of the Duncan he knew. “I hate the woman, and Mom makes me go with her whenever she does her beck-and-call thing.” Duncan rolled forward. “I’m ready when you are.”
Todd let him slide out of the house and then pulled the door closed. “Awesome. Where do you want to go?”

Truth or Dare? available to pre-order!

I'm happy to say that my sexy short story Truth or Dare? is now available to pre-order.

This is a previously published title. The story hasn't changed just the fact that I have now self-published it; hence the new cover and the price.

The book releases on Tuesday 16th January and will be available to buy for 99 cents.

Blurb:

Do you dare tell the truth?

A tequila fuelled game of Truth or Dare is not Dani’s idea of fun, but when Cameron, the jerk who rejected her a year ago is the one provoking her into playing, how can she say no? Not that he’s giving her the option in the first place.

Bravado compels her forward, but when the dares get physical and their friends leave them alone, Cameron’s questions turn to her feelings for him, and unfortunately, lying is not part of the game.

Will a dare give Dani the courage she needs to tell Cameron the truth?

This title contains explicit language and graphic sex.

Note: This is a previously published title. No changes have been made to the story.

Length: 10,000 words/ 37 pages| Content: Erotic Romance| Publisher: Elizabeth Morgan

Excerpt:

“Well, if it’s finally just the four of us, I think it’s about time I gave Dani her house warming gift.” Cameron walked over to my TV cabinet and reached behind the television set.
“I’d say ‘how nice,’ but knowing you, this is probably going to be something that will end up in my bin.”
“Fine with me, as long as we get to drink it first.” Straightening, he turned with a bottle of tequila in his grasp.
“Way to go, bro.” Benjamin saluted him with his beer.
I cocked an eyebrow at him. “I think that’s more a present for you than me, Cameron.”
“It’s a present for all of us.” He walked to the coffee table and placed the bottle down. “I thought it would be a good idea if we christened your new place.”
Suggestion flooded his eyes. It took every ounce of sanity I owned not to squirm under his piercing gaze or let my imagination run away with how tempting such an offer was.
“What, with vomit?”
He fell back into the armchair. “I was thinking more along the lines of a little tequila-fuelled truth or dare.”
Kat giggled. “Oh, that sounds fun.”
“What are we, fourteen-year-olds?” I glanced between them all.
His lips twitched. “What’s the matter, Dani? Afraid you’re going to have to do something you might like?”
My stomach flipped. Every fibre in my body told me this was a bad idea, but no way would I let this jerk-off laugh at me over a stupid high school game.
“If you’re scared—”
“I ain’t afraid of anything.”
A slow smile crawled across his face. “I dare you to prove it.”
A string of “ohs” floated from Benjamin and Katherine, followed by more giggling.
God help me.
“Fine.” Pushing myself up, I collected some of the bottles from the coffee table. “I will go get the shot glasses, salt, and limes.”
He relaxed into the chair. “That’s my girl.”
“I’m not your girl, arsehole.”
Walking through the open doorway in to the kitchen, I dropped the empty bottles into the recycle bin, then grabbed a couple of limes from the fruit bowl.
What the hell was I doing? It was late. I had every right to kick them out. Ben and Cam would tease me, but fuck them. This was my flat. I could do whatever the hell I wanted. I didn’t have to play stupid games.
Taking a knife from the block, I halved each lime and then again until they were in segments before throwing them in a nearby, semi-clean bowl.
I wandered over to my glass cupboard and reached up on tiptoes to find the cluster of tumblers. A large hand landed on my hip. An incoherent squeak left me as every muscle in my body went skywards.
I gripped the cupboard shelf with a harsh curse. “What the fuck?”
Fingertips skimmed the band of my jeans. Solid muscle pressed me into the kitchen counter.
“Didn't mean to scare you.” Amusement lit Cameron’s voice. “Just wanted to see if you needed any help?”
Words seemed to escape me at the feel of his rough fingertips dancing along my waist. An involuntary shudder shook me at the thought of his palm slipping past my waistband and knickers, of his touch wandering lower until he found my swelling clit, pinching and rubbing the bundle of nerves until I broke against my kitchen counter. My nipples tightened at the idea. God, how many times had I imagined him taking me in such a way? Working me into a frenzy before coaxing my clothes off, spreading my thighs, and burying himself inside me…
“Not from you, I don’t.” The words were shaky as I forced them past my lips.
His husky laughter rumbled through my back. He was so hot and hard, I wanted to rub against him, melt into him—and I hated myself for it.
Soft lips pressed against my ear. “Why are you so stubborn?”
“Why are you so impatient? Can’t a girl cut limes and grab glasses in peace?”
He slipped his hand round to my stomach, playing with the button on my jeans. My legs quivered.
“Are you sure you want to play?” His voice dropped to a soft growl. “I can think of so many other ways you and me could christen your new place. Starting right here, right now.”
A ragged breath left me. He slid his hand from under my T-shirt, walked his fingers up my arm, and then reached into the cupboard. He pinned me to the counter, and I had to cut off a groan at the feel of his impressive erection digging in to my arse.
“What do you say?”
I clenched my thighs together at the feel of moisture flooding my knickers. My eyelids fluttered shut. “I say the day I agree to such activities with you will be the day Hell freezes over.”
He laughed, low and rough. “You want to play the hard way, I’m game.”
My eyelids snapped open at the sound of glass hitting wood. Glancing down, I saw four tumblers in his grasp on the counter beside me.
“But who knows what I might ask you,” he continued.
“Ask whatever you want.” Lowering my arm, I glanced over my shoulder. “You don’t scare me.”

His lips twisted. “Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance.”

Paige rolled the tumbler between her thumb and index finger. “And this extra shot”-she waggled her finely plucked eyebrows-“a purposely chosen sweet cherry is to, Lia. May tonight be filled with some sexy fun, all of which will propel you in to a tomorrow full of some sort of renewed hope rather than regret.”
“Thanks, I guess.”
Following her direction I lifted the shot glass – the last of six – and knocked the sweet liquid back. My eyelids fluttered as the final hit of “liquid courage” ran down my throat and heated my insides to another degree. A shudder ran the length of my spine, and with one slow and deep breath, I shook off my previous tension.
The bang of glass on wood forced my focus back to the ladies sitting around me.
“Right, you know the rules girls; peruse the crowd and find yourself a man.” Paige lifted her fingers and pointed to her eyes. “Make eye contact, and if he gives you a smile, a “come hither,” or basically eye fucks you; you get your ass over there and tell him he is going home with you tonight.” She pulled ten dollars from her cleavage and placed it on the table. “If he is susceptible to that fabulous idea, then whoever is unlucky tonight gets to keep your ten dollars for another couple of rounds and a cab ride home.”
“All is fair in love and war, baby.” Michaela stood up and threw a ten dollar note on to the table. “And that blond is mine, all mine. Wish him luck, ladies, because he is going to need his strength tonight.”
We watched with amusement as Michaela prowled toward the blond. A coy smile curled his lips as she pushed up against him and whispered in his ear. Her hand landed on his chest, lingering, before she pulled away and walked into the crowd. A sultry glance over her shoulder, and the blond handed his beer bottle to his mate and followed without hesitation.
“God, she makes it look so easy,” Cindy commented with a shake of her head.
“It is that easy.” Paige leant across the table. “The main reason people come to clubs is because they want to hook up with someone for the night.”
“Silly me, I was always under the impression the point of a club was to come dancing and have fun.” I replied.
She cocked her head to the side. “Oh sweetie, you are not that naive. And playing dumb is not going to get you out of the game.” Paige glanced over her shoulder. “So, on that note, who is the lucky guy going to be?”
“No idea.” I shrugged, and looked out at the mass of bodies crowding the club. “This may take me a while.”
“Oh, I’m in no hurry for you to pick.” She twisted round, and draped one leg over the other. “I have a backup plan in the form of the sexy ass bartender.” She folded her arms and shot me a smile. “So, I’m good to wait.”
“Remind me again, how does putting myself out there to be used for one night actually help my self-esteem?”
“This isn’t about self esteem. This is about fun; sexy, dirty, orgasmic fun.”
“Oh, so I have fun and then continue to feel like crap once it is over? Right, now I remember why this is a really idiotic game.”
She rolled her eyes. “Just pick or I will pick for you.”
“Go ahead and pick. I’m not going up to some stranger and saying, “hey baby, wanna get in my panties, so I can feel like shit in the morning.”
“Now, the first part might actually work. Just stop talking after the word panties, push your tits together, and bat your eyelashes. Simple.”
Grabbing the twenty dollars from the table, I stood up. “I’m getting a drink. Anyone who isn’t interested in feeling cheap in the morning want one?”
Cindy raised her hand. I glanced at Loretta who nodded.
“You use to be fun.” Paige sighed, and stood up. “Shaun has really-”
“Done enough. So, please stop reminding me.” The words felt like gravel in my mouth as I bit them out. Twisting round, my shoulder met with a solid wall of muscle. Stumbling to a halt, I looked up and an apology died on my tongue. Amber eyes looked down at me from the sexiest face I had ever seen in my life; high cheekbones, a roman nose, and a fine layer of hair covered a well angled jaw. His skin was the richest tone of copper, and his dark hair fell back in waves and stopped just under his ears.
“Sorry.” The words fell from my lips too silent for the stranger to have heard me, but his lips twisted at the corners.
His large hand came to rest on the small of my back, his fingertips hot, and rough against my bare skin. He leaned in, pressing his mouth to my ear. “It was my fault entirely.” His breath skated down my neck causing goosebumps to rise over every inch of my flesh A shudder racked down my spine. “And I’m happy to take the blame.”
My mouth watered at the scent of his spicy cologne. A blush claimed my entire body as he pulled a breath away and gazed down at me. His focus slipped further, resting on my breasts which felt restricted in the idiotic and binding dress.
“As an apology I insist you have a drink with me.”

~ * ~

The dream darkened; the images disintegrated to ash as something deep inside me stirred. That unusual, invisible tug I had quickly learnt was my new alarm clock; my body telling me that I now had to be awake and therefore without my consent it pulled me into the realm of semi-consciousness. The innocent dream lost in darkness. No, not a dream; I didn’t have the luxury of dreaming anymore. It was just a memory and one that kept replaying in my mind every time I closed my eyes. My subconscious telling me that I owed an old friend one big, fat, apology; an apology that would surely get me an ‘I told you so’ as a reply and that was presuming that I ever got to see her again.
It was the truth. Everything she ever told me... it’s all real.
The past seemed like a pleasant place to live, but then again anything was better than my current predicament, which was nothing short of a nightmare. A cold, dark, twisted nightmare.
“I told you to be careful what you wish for.”
Her voice was a soft and sweet whisper that I could feel dance across my skin; the usual taunting tone accompanying her words.
“Go away, Elle.”
“Make me.”
A lock clicked. Hinges whined as heavy, rusted metal scraped against concrete. Light briefly touched my face, only to be overtaken by an unfamiliar presence that filled my door frame. My eyeballs hurt behind my lids, but I didn’t bother opening my eyes and indulging in the mild curiosity that involuntary tickled the back of my mind. Truth be told I didn’t have the bloody energy to even try to look, then again, if I had learnt one thing during my time in purgatory it was that nothing ever good happened when you opened your eyes and that the things you did see weren’t always real.
A crinkle of plastic accompanied the odd squeak, and shuffle of clumsy feet. My visitor moved into the room allowing the overhead lighting from the outer corridor to slither into my cell. It wasn’t as good as daylight; nowhere near and yet being locked in the dark for such long periods of time had made my skin super sensitive. That horrid illumination was all I had; all I could use to delude myself into pretending that I was really lay on a rock hard stretcher in my back garden, and not some dank room in a strange facility in, god only knows where the hell I could be. The light was cold and pale; not like the warmth from the sun, but regardless, I could feel it on my skin; feel its energy in a way that I couldn’t before.
Iron clamped around my jaw breaking my momentary delusion. Not to mention the impact was so sudden my lids snapped open and my eyeballs practically bulged from their sockets. Jesus, talk about a wakeup call.
The left side of my friends faced remained in the shadows of the room, but the right... the light barely touched him; as if it was almost afraid to. His jaw was square and from the patch of skin that was illuminated he was as pale as every other Vampire I’d had the pleasure of meeting during my time here. His hair seemed dark and he looked to be wearing black; the meatier fellows all seemed to wear black, and have the roll of “the muscle” in this joint. Clearly they were prison guards, and one other thing I had learnt during my stay; these guards didn’t have patience, not that human bouncers or security guards rarely did, but then again humans couldn’t go around biting or beating the crap out of the people they were responsible for.
He raised his left hand and the red opaque silhouette of my feeding tube caught the corner of my eye; a droplet ready to fall from the slit. The scent of blood touched my nostrils... Jesus... how I hated that I knew that smell.
“I’m not thirsty.” The words didn’t quite make it past my lips; instead they remained locked between my throat and teeth, but my new friend seemed to understand; this was made obvious by the tick in the visible side of his neck. Not that he gave a shite, which he proved by digging his ice cold fingertips into my cheeks; pushing my flesh into my teeth so violently that I was sure they would have shattered, but being a compromising soul I obliged and opened my mouth. Although, I doubted anyone would class my mouth as being opened since my lips were vertical and the top lip was stuck in the opposite direction of the bottom. I no doubt looked like a fish mid breath.
“More like a fish with a botched lip job, mid breath.”
I said go away, Elle. I slanted my gaze to the right corner of the room watching as the shadows solidified.
“And I said, make me.”
The tube was pushed between my teeth; the tip grazing along my tongue and pushed further, until it was stuck halfway down my gullet. Blood; cold and thick coated my throat; slithering into my system. My throat flexed; more from the slight discomfort then the need to drink or even to retch. Retching would be the right thing to do when someone force fed you blood, but since I woke up it was all I could eat, well, drink. Even though my mind was still plagued with disgust and the madness of the situation; a part of me had accepted the inevitable and ridiculous truth... I was a Vampire.

Excerpt:

“You know, you need to get out once in a while,” Raymond said as he came out of his bedroom. “Do you realize it’s been eighteen months since they told you about Ash? He’s gone and isn’t coming back, and you need to find someone to share your life.” He leaned closer. “And don’t say that’s what you have me and Violet for. You need someone to love and love you in return.”
“I had that once, and I don’t know if I can ever have that again.” Brighton knew what it felt like to have someone who was the other half of him. “Besides, Violet is still settling in and I need to concentrate on her. Allie asked me to take care of Violet if anything ever happened to her, and I intend to do the very best that I can.” He knew the answer was a cop-out of sorts and that he was hiding behind his niece, but he wasn’t ready to date yet. “So you go on out and have a good time.” He did a double take on Raymond’s outfit. He wore a pair of jeans that had to be two sizes too small and a shirt that showed off his arms. “Where are you going?”
“To Rose’s for coffee.”
“Don’t you think you’re a little overdressed… or underdressed, in this case? God, you don’t want to cut off circulation to your bits. And this is Biglerville.”
“The guy I’m dating is from LA. His name is Ethan, and he’s Justin Hawthorne’s assistant. So he’s used to being around people who are really cool and interesting and….” Raymond shifted his gaze to the floor.
“You are not allowed to be unsure of yourself. Go back in there and change. Let this Ethan see who you really are and he’s sure to like you. And if he doesn’t, I’ll show up at his house and kick his ass.” Brighton pulled Raymond into his arms. “Now go ahead and change. Just be yourself.”
With a smile, Raymond went back into his room while Brighton returned to making dinner.
“Violet, please turn that down a little.”
She lowered the volume, and Brighton cut up some lettuce to make them each a small salad. He was really blessed that Violet loved vegetables, though if he asked her what she wanted to eat she’d tell him bacon. That girl would eat bacon for each and every meal if he let her. He opened the door to the refrigerator and pulled out some chicken he’d already cooked and began cutting it into small pieces, along with a little celery and some herbs, as well as chopped nuts.
“Is this better?” Raymond asked, and Brighton nodded.
“You look great. The slacks are nicer than the tight jeans, and I like that shirt. The green is great on you.” Brighton watched as Raymond pulled on his shoes and got ready to go. “Take an umbrella. You’re going to need it.”
Raymond looked out the front window, groaning as the rain lashed the glass.
Lightning flashed and thunder rumbled, sending Violet off the sofa and into his arms. He set aside what he was doing, lifted her up, and took her back to the sofa. “It’s just thunder. There’s nothing to be afraid of.” He sat down with Violet on his lap and turned to Raymond. “Just wait a little while. This isn’t going to last long. When are you supposed to be there?”
Raymond checked his phone. “Fifteen minutes.” He shoved it back in his pocket. “The one time I’m ready early and I’m stuck waiting until the storm lets up.”
Brighton patted Violet’s knee. “Why don’t you go get the really big umbrella for Uncle Raymond? That way he won’t get wet.” He smiled as Violet hurried to the closet and brought over the black-and-white umbrella. She jumped when the thunder rolled again, but handed it to Raymond and then sat next to Brighton once more. “Do you think you can sit here while I finish making you something to eat?” He tweaked her nose, and she nodded slowly.
The storm was already moving on and the thunder sounded less sharp. Raymond took the umbrella and headed for the door to the stairs. “I’ll see you later.” He waved, and Violet waved back. Raymond closed the door behind him, and Brighton stood to return to the kitchen.
Violet laughed as one of the characters on her show did something funny. He adored that sound. She’d been with him for six months now. His sister had developed cancer, and by the time they diagnosed it, she was beyond help and lasted only a few more weeks. The strain she’d had was nasty and had left none of her untouched. At the end she’d been little more than skin and bones. One of the hardest things Brighton had ever had to do was take Violet home with him as she cried for her mother while he was barely able to hold himself together. Thank God Raymond had come to stay with him the year before.
Just like when Ash walked out of his life for the last time to take his assignment. Ash had promised it would be his last one that his time was up after that. It all turned out to be true, though not in the way either of them had hoped at the time.

Book blurb:

When inquisitive antique dealer Cami Wilson learns she’s the revered offspring of an immortal mother and a mortal father, it’s not just her hybrid status that has her all flustered. The title comes with her very own super-sexy guardian.

Jaded immortal Joseph Carlisle has only one thing on his mind; his sworn duty to protect the hybrid from those who wish her harm. Anything else would be complicated. That is until they meet.

Chemistry sizzles between them but there’s a problem—the hybrid’s curse. Cami’s touch, skin to skin, proves near fatal to her and all immortals, Joseph included.
But the fated lovers discover her curse is the least of their concerns when a friend’s deadly betrayal threatens to tear them apart forever.

Excerpt:

He might have just saved her life, but pinned to the freezing concrete by some wannabe hero was not her idea of fun. Cami Wilson shoved the unyielding wall of his chest, fighting not only him but the rising panic. ‘Get the hell off me!’
The guy remained on top of her, using his large frame to protect her from the chunks of smouldering metal hurtling to the ground around her. Icy air met with fiery heat and smoke infused the atmosphere like the fifth of November, but there were no sparkling fireworks to admire, only the flaming inferno, which seconds earlier had been her car.
Maybe if she hadn’t been so intrigued by the antique brooch she held in her hand or distracted by the weird, periodic buzzing emitting from it, she might have seen him coming at her in full, rugby tackle mode.
He lifted a little, easing the crushing pressure on her ribs, but remained inches from her face. Glacier-blue eyes met hers, captivating and intense. ‘Are you hurt?’
His gravelly voice did something tingly to her insides. She went to speak, but no words came. Nothing came to mind. Not the explosion. Not the contents of her shopping trolley strewn all over Morrisons’ car park. Not the fact she could have been killed. Somehow, none of it registered.
She gawped back at him like a doe-eyed teenager, taking in the angular sweep of a jawline peppered with dark stubble, and well-defined lips that parted invitingly as he drew in his breath.
His gaze lingered on her mouth in a breath-taking moment right out of one of those soppy rom-coms she liked to watch.
Forget burning cars and curious brooches… hel-lo, future husband.
Somewhere to her left, an engine revved loudly, and he turned his head towards the sound. Overlong, tousled hair tickled her cheek, and she got a faint whiff of citrus shampoo.
Hmm, lovely…
A second later, his attention returned to her. His grave expression burned with an urgency that brought her down from the clouds. ‘Dammit! I asked if you were hurt.’
‘No, I…’
In a move so swift it wasn’t humanly possible, he leapt to his feet and hauled her up beside him. The brooch slipped from her gloved hand and landed on the ground.
The man cursed under his breath and stooped to retrieve it. With an exasperated look, he waved it in front of her as though she were a baby dropping her dummy for the hundredth time. ‘You need to take more care of this. Don’t you know how important it is?’
Sudden indignation flared. Cami snatched the jewel from his grasp and slipped it back into her coat pocket. Okay, the guy rocked the sexy, just-rolled-out-of-bed look, but his patronising attitude set her teeth on edge. What right did he have to tell her what to do? And what on Earth did he know about a weird, vibrating brooch she’d been given by her adoptive mother, the only clue she had to her past?

Excerpt:

She took a deep breath. “Okay I must admit parts of that do scare me a bit but Zach, the thought of you feeding off someone else upsets me! I don’t want you to do that – can we start off slowly? Maybe a couple of teeny feeds a day?”
He frowned. “Teeny? You mean small?”
“Yes, small, could we do that?” she implored – willing for him to agree.
Zach drew her closer and gave her a little kiss. “Yes my precious little one. Though you know what that will mean?”
She frowned. “No? What?” He had ‘that’ look in his eyes again and her heart leapt.
“Well, the best time for feeding for a couple – well let’s just say – it’s usually in bed – or the shower – or in fact on top of the cabinet in the bathroom! You get my meaning?” He smiled wickedly and ran his tongue along her neck.
Oh my! She was going to be a VERY happy woman. She ran her hand down the front of his chest, feeling the strong, very strong, muscles underneath his shirt.
“Why don’t we practice now? Just so I know you’re getting enough – what did you call it – oh yes – sustenance!” she all but whimpered.
